Rebates and Concessions
State and Territory Governments provide rebates and concessions to reduce the cost of electricity to eligible customers. If you hold a current Pensioner Concession card, Healthcare card or Veterans’ Affairs card or suffer from diagnosed medical conditions, you may be eligible for concessions on electricity services. QLD: Electricity (Pensioner) Rebate, Emergency Life Support Concession, Home Energy Emergency Assistance Scheme. You can also contact the Concessions Unit of the Queensland Department of Communities for more information about eligibility, click here for further details. Please note: Medical rebates (if applicable) must be applied for, and are paid directly, by the Queensland Government.
NSW: Low Income Household Rebate (previously known as the Energy or Pensioner), Life Support Electricity Rebate, Energy Accounts Payment Assistance, click here for further details. The NSW Government’s Family Energy Rebate is designed to help families manage their energy costs. click here for further details. Please note: The Family Energy Rebate (if applicable) must be applied for, and are paid directly, by the New South Wales Government.
SA: Energy Concession, Emergency Electricity Payment Scheme. NSW Low Income Household Rebate Application
The Energy Rebate is provided on behalf of the State Government. The New South WalesState Government wholly funds the rebate; determines the rebate amount, and the rules that govern the rebate.

NSW Medical Energy Rebate Application
The NSW Medical Energy rebate is for customers who are unable to self-regulate their body temperature. It may be associated with certain medical conditions such as Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis.

NSW Life Support Rebate Application
The Life Support rebates are provided on behalf of the NSW Government. These rebates support people who require life support equipment such as a Positive Airway Pressure Device.

"From 1 April 2017, Commonwealth Health Care Card holders and asylum seekers will be able to apply for the Electricity Rebate through People Energy. Eligible customers will receive payments back-dated to 1 January 2017. Contact Queensland Government on 13 74 68 for more information."
